Delilah’s Front Porch began as a dream in our hearts – the Perez family: Janie, Joe, and our son Josh. What started as our longtime vision of owning an Austin food truck became reality in 2022, born from both love and loss that shaped our Austin community food truck venue.

Our Austin food truck name carries a special story close to our hearts. After the sudden and unexpected passing of our beloved dog Samantha J. Foxx, we knew we needed to channel our grief into something meaningful for the Austin community. We decided to honor her memory by naming our Austin food truck Delilah – which was actually Samantha’s original name when we first rescued her from a family who could no longer care for her and had labeled her as aggressive. We believed in giving her a fresh start with a new name, just as this Austin food truck became our fresh start and spark of hope during one of our family’s darkest moments.

Life has a beautiful way of bringing light into darkness. Just months after starting our Austin food truck journey, while walking through our Austin neighborhood, Janie discovered another lost dog in need. After searching endlessly for his owners and finding local Austin shelters full, we welcomed Pete into our family. We truly believe this sweet soul was Samantha’s gift to us – a reminder that love multiplies when shared in the Austin community.

Today, you’ll find both Samantha and Pete featured proudly on our Austin food truck logo, watching over every meal we serve and every community gathering we host at our Austin venue.
